My Word and Color Theme for 2015 Goals and Dreams

brave bold red orange inspiration san diego hr mom
I came across a blogger who mentioned she chooses a word and color for each year, kind of like a driving theme or north star to guide yourself by.  I thought about this, mulled it over in my mind for about 2 minutes, and instantly fell in love with the idea.  She talked about how to choose your word and color, and before she even got two words out, I instantly knew my word was going to be Brave.  When I closed my eyes, all I could see were oranges and reds like the sunset.  Ironically, as I came to this conclusion, she mentioned her colors were going to be the same exact ones.  I had only skimmed her blog post before and laughed to myself when I went back and read it in more detail.  Her word last year after thoughtful reflection was Brave as well though she never formally picked one.  After reading that, I knew it was just meant to be.

So what then do you do with a word and color?  I take it as a driving theme for myself, a filter and a question through which I will run all my plans and actions.  It does not have to be formal, but I have posted my word above my work space as a fun reminder about the Brave new things I want to do in 2015.  I want to make sure I consciously stretch myself and go out into the world with bold ambition.  If I find myself feeling timid or shy or questioning whether I should take such and such risk, I will remember my word.  Brave.  I will close my eyes, focus my energy on that word.  Repeat it to myself.  Feel the colors, the warmth radiate as I imagine the soft oranges and reds swirling around in my mind's eye.  I will use that energy to inspire and fuel my efforts.

I am so excited to see what 2015 will bring.  What do you think?  Will you be choosing a theme word for your 2015 Goals and Dreams?  Please share below.

  1. You can't trust only any organization to write your essays. You should make certain that your essay is being composed sans preparation by an expert. Tragically, some essaye benefit suppliers will attempt to go off an old paper from their essay database, which can get you in a bad position for unoriginality.
